Everything that could possibly go wrong did go wrong.Right from the draws to the last game.But they can't look back & feel unlucky or hard done by.
Obviously they were given a very difficult draw but then they have an embarrassment of riches,they have an expensively assembled squad littered with some of the world biggest footballing talents.
And contrary to Mancini's warped opinion,their squad actually do possess European football experience.Yaya Toure won the Champions' League with Barcelona,David Silva played & lost two Champions League finals with Valencia,Carlos Tevez also won it with Manchester United to mention but a few.
They led at Real Madrid with only five minutes of normal time to play but they still managed to lose the game.They were completely outplayed by Dortmund.They took only 1point from the double header against a youthful & inexperienced Ajax side.
They can't have misgivings about refereeing either because while they referee waved away what was a clear penalty for them at home to Ajax,they also benefitted from a dubious penalty call at home to Dortmund.
Clearly,Manchester City made a mess of their European Campaign & can only look back & feel they should have done much better.However,they live to fight another day.
