It's approaching Christmas period now & the matches are coming thick & fast.Midweek action saw Chelsea lose further ground in the title race while City & United managed to grind out 3points to keep pace at the summit.
Saturday
WEST HAM v CHELSEA 1:45PM
West Ham are coming off 2 losses while Chelsea are coming off 2 draws & talking about Chelsea, they've suddenly become tentative & a bit ponderous in the final third with Benitez not a fan of the gung-ho style football they've served us before Di Matteo was fired. What Benitez is trying to do is to sacrifice a bit of excitement for defensive solidity. While Chelsea's new set-up is still being accustomed to by the players,I see the Hammer being a bit handful in front of their fans.1-1
ARSENAL v SWANSEA 4PM
Arsenal dropped 4 points in the tricky away matches to Villa & Everton.Fans are not happy with Wenger at the moment & understandably so.One would have expected them to take at least 4 points from those 2 matches. They face a very good side in Swansea & they have to be at their best to win.I predict they will be.3-1
FULHAM v SPURS 4PM
This should be an exciting clash, both sides play attractive brand of football but with Spurs approaching their best form so far, they should edge it.1-2
LIVERPOOL v SOUTHAMPTON 4PM
The reds' tale of woe in front goal continued against Spurs on Wednesday. They needed a bizarre own goal from Bale to get on the score sheet & it's like if Suarez doesn't score, nobody will.I suspect they will need a lot of goals to get rid of a Southampton side who aren't afraid of commiting players forward. They need Suarez to be at his best.3-2
MAN CITY v EVERTON 4PM
City secured a professional win against Wigan on Wednesday, they will need to be better against Everton. Its worth noting Everton have won 4 of the last five matches between these two.
Everton may miss the services of Leighton Baines who got injured against Arsenal but they will welcome back Kevin Mirallas.Man City have a full squad to choose from.1-1
QPR v VILLA 4PM
'Arry has to start weaving his magic from here if he will save QPR from relegation. On paper they have more quality than Aston Villa.QPR got a point at Sunderland but a point here again won't do them much good.2-1
WEST BROM v STOKE 4PM
West Brom 4-game winning streak was brought to an abrupt end at Swansea while Stoke snatched a win from the clutches of defeat late on against Newcastle. The Baggies are reborn under Steve Clarke this season & I expect them to get back on track.2-1
READING v MAN UTD 6:30PM
Reading are neck deep in trouble & I just don't see a way out for them. They simply lack the quality to compete at this level.Although United seems to be able to really play for 15mins in a game, they should have no problems here.0-2
Sunday
NORWICH v SUNDERLAND 5PM
The Canaries won the corresponding fixture last season by a 2-1 scoreline. However Sunderland are desperate for points as they edging close to relegation waters.I see an evenly matched encounter.1-1
Monday
NEWCASTLE v WIGAN 9PM
Newcastle are coming off a truly dreadful form, they have taken just a solitary point from a possible fifteen & are on a 4-game losing streak. They are also struggling with injuries & possibly confidence.Having said that, they have to regroup for this match. It's much win nature & the raucous support should steer then to victory.2-1
