Arsenal got back to winning ways as they dealt with 9-man tottenham in
a highly contested thrilling derby as adebayor plays against his
former club.
The match was put underway and as early as the 10',adebayor who was
welcomed with boos got the opener for spurs.A Long ball from defence
got to defoe,the english man runs and strikes the ball to sczcesny
whose save wasn't enough as adebayor scrambles home.
Adebayor wouldnt last however, in just 8mins from his goal,he was
given his marching orders by howard webb after a bad tackle on santi
carzola.The red card was the third he got from webb in his last four
red card received. [red card record? Urh?]
The dismissal however proved costly for spurs as arsenal equalised in
just 4mins after it through per mertersacker,a cross from walcott got
to the defender to head into the top corner of lloris net.Arsenal took
a deserved lead in the 42' as the ball was worked into the
box,podolski get on it and curls a ball that deflected past gallas
into the bottom corner of the net.In just 3minutes later,the lead was
extended,as giroud who earlier forced a save from lloris got his goal
when carzola ran wide against spurs defence to square a cross for
giroud to scramble past lloris amidst two spurs defender.
After the half it was arsenal who extended their lead as a goal kick
from sczcesny got to walcott ,the english man passed to podolski who
wasted no time in squaring for carzola to slot home in the 58th
minute.The game looked like it was getting back in spurs way when
gareth bale ran wide at arsenal's defence to find space and use his
right foot to place the ball past sczcesny to reduce the deficit to
2goals.
With 10mins left,the gunners dominated position and finally put the
game to bed when substitute oxlade chamberlain squared in for winger
walcott to put the ball into lloris net in the 91th minutes to seal
the win.
