Brendan rodgers former club,swansea dumps his new club,'pool out of
the capital one cup yesterday night as they denied the anfield outfit
a place in the last eight of the competition.
The swans put up a great performance in the first half and gained lots
of possession which provided chico flores the chance to head
home.After the break,steven gerrard and luiz suarez where summoned to
get the job done on the swans,the game changed drastically as suarez
missed his first chance in just two minutes of play from a jonjo
shelvey's cross.When it looked like it was liverpool who were going to
level up,the swans came up to mute brendan rodgers side as nathan
dyer's goal gave them a 2-goal lead.
Liverpool werent made mute completely as it didnt take long for suarez
to head home from a steven gerrard cross.Liverpool continued to press
for an equalizer and at 90',a 5-minute injury time was added and it
was swansea's de guzman goal[assisted by michu] that ensured that the
game was finally put to bed as liverpool was put to the sword at full
time.
