Previously on our post on lionel messi's chances of grabbing the
ballon d'or,we told us that the debate is hot around the world as to
who deserves and should be given the award for the world best player
for 2011? The two main contenders for this accolade are lionel messi
and cristiano ronaldo..we all know this.
As we've checked out leo's run to his third consecutive ballon d'or
and also if he is going to grab the forth,Lets take a brief check at
cristiano's record in 2012.
The portugese international bagged 46goals and 12assists in 38 liga
matches for the capital club,real madrid in 2011/2012.He also added
10goals and 3 assists in 10 uEFA champions league games.Most
importantly,ronaldo was the best player on the best la liga team of
all time.Ronaldo was on cracking form when he scored in each of the
38games in the la liga(a record on its self) to become the only player
to make this feat(unbelieveable!).In 2011/2012,real madrid became the
only club in the history of the spanish primera to tally 100points in
a single season(awesome!),am sure it wouldnt have happened if ronaldo
wasnt in the team.
Has the los blancos star done everything needed to win the accolade
with other honourable mentions tipped for the award on the other side
of the coin?
